Introduction
The University of Mumbai offers Masters of Commerce as a likely
extension of the undergraduate course in Commerce i.e. B.Com. The
most common specializations are in Accountancy, Business Management,
Banking & Finance and E-Commerce. Till very recently the Masters
programme was offered by the University in its department and
Institute of Distance Education. It is only in the last few years
that the University permitted its affiliated colleges to offer this
program at the college level.
The course aims at providing specialization to the students in the
field of management and accountancy. The course contents are
designed keeping in view that the course is a natural of the
undergraduate course. The syllabus takes care of the requirement of
the industry as well as the academia. The faculty at GNYANODAYA

Eligibility of Admission
A student to be eligible for admission to the M.Com Part I course
must have passed the TY. B.Com./B.M.S./B.B.&I. /B.A.F./B.F.M.
examination. Admission for students of all categories will be on
merit. Admission is subject to the rules of the state government
and University of Mumbai.
Standard of Passing
The learner to pass a course shall have to obtain a minimum of 40%
marks in aggregate for each course where the course consists of
Internal Assessment & Semester End Examination. The learner shall
obtain minimum of 40% marks (i.e. 16 out of 40) in the Internal
Assessment and 40% marks in Semester End Examination (i.e. 24 out
of 60) separately, to pass the course and minimum of Grade E in
the project component, wherever applicable to pass a particular
semester. A learner will be said to have passed the course if the
learner passes the Internal Assessment & Semester End Examination
together.
Standard of Passing
- A learner shall be allowed to keep term for Semester II irrespective of number of courses of failure in the semester I.
