Introduction
Bachelor of Science in Chemistry prepares students to explore the
composition, structure, and properties of substances. It focuses on
fundamental concepts of organic, inorganic, and physical chemistry
along with practical laboratory skills. During the three-year
programme, students study a wide range of subjects such as chemical
bonding, thermodynamics, analytical techniques, reaction mechanisms,
and spectroscopy. While the chemistry courses build strong
scientific knowledge and experimental skills, the mathematics &
analytical components help develop research-oriented thinking and
problem-solving abilities.
Chemistry is a versatile and promising field offering numerous
career opportunities in industries and research sectors. With the
rapid growth of pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and environmental
science, there is a continuous demand for skilled chemistry
graduates. Some job options after the course include Chemist,
Laboratory Analyst, Quality Control Officer, Research Scientist,
Pharmacist, Environmental Consultant, and Chemical Engineer.
Students can also pursue higher studies such as M.Sc., research
programmes, or careers in teaching and academia.
